This blog will share all my interest in life. It includes cooking, gardening, travelling, etc, etc. I’ve just started my “new” hobby ie gardening. I also love to collect recipes and attending cooking classes. I would love to share all my interest here as my future reference and may be memoir in the future.

MY 1ST SOWING EXPERIENCED.....
Ulam raja is actually my first sowing seeds experience. It was given my brother in law last hari raya. Frankly speaking when he gave me that seeds i'm kindda questions myself.."can it grow from that"? But i've just took the seeds back. When arrived home i've just throw the seeds into my pot, following my bro in law advice...by watering it more often to help it grows...after 2 days i'm so excited to see the seeds starts to grow and i did message my bro in law to tell him "good news"...haha...so excited.....actually...
Love to eat ulam raja like this......with tempoyak (fermented durian) & cili padi...better to have ikan goreng...wallah....2 pinggan nasi tak cukup beb...

STARTING MY "NEW" HOBBY
Actually this hobby is not new to me. Since i was in Form 3, i like to plant some vegetables at the backyard of my house. During that day the 1st veggie that i plant was kangkung or water spinach. I love to eat kangkung and thats why i planted it off course ;-). My favourite dishes is kangkung goreng belacan.
This is kangkung or water spinach... My feberet..kangkung goreng belacan...
And....this is my kangkung that i planted on 15/9/12 if i'm not mistaken...forgot already...huhuhu...At the begining when i planted the seeds, i'm afraid that the soil is not suitable. Through my reading i applied some knowledge to make sure i'm on the right track. I did combine the soil and add some fertilizer...i bought baja tahi kambing....some said baja tahi ayam is better but i can't take the smell...LOL walau kambing tu dah terkenal busuk tapi bab ehem kambing lagi ok...LOL
I'm sooooo xcited to see my kangkung are growing like that in just one nite....so amazing...the bottom one i took on 21/9/12 about 6pm and the above on 22/9/12 at 7am. Alhamdulillah my kangkung grow well so far and can't wait to eat my own kangkung goreng belacan....

MY VERY FIRST TART ORDER
Alhamdulillah, i got the 1st order from my collegues who wants it for her wedding. She wants my tart to be one of the "hantaran" and she also order for some guests. Actually before i got the order, i did make some tarts to polish my skills... LOL and sell it at the office canteen with the help of my friends. Since it was my 1st trial and the packaging was so so....plus the price of RM1, so nobody willing to buy it. May be they think it was quite expensive and there is no guarantee about the taste la.huhuhu...So...my friends suggest to sell it loose not by packaging. So we remove it from the boxes and put to a container and sell it per pieces...hahaha...
During class, kak mira suggest we sell the tart RM1 per pieces because it was 100% handmade and i "obey" the rule/suggestion...huhu...very time consuming and very tiring....as all the ingredients need to measure ...even the pineaplle filling and every single dough need to put on scale.Furthermore...it was costly to make this cute tart, i mean the modal la...need to buy different color & all the tools are a bit expensive.

TART BUAH-BUAHAN
I'm interested to attend this class when i saw Puan Mirawati (the teacher/sifu) on Buletin Utama TV3. It shows how Kak Mira make a pastry basket and also the fruits tarts. Pretty amazing how she could make the bakul and tart bentuk buah-buahan. Knowing my ability i choosed to attend only the tart class not the pastry basket...LOL..
More photos here.. http://dolliescakes.blogspot.com/search/label/bakul%20pastri

HOW TO MAKE CAKE FLOUR
How To Make Cake Flour
Cake flour. Let’s face facts: I never have cake flour on hand when I need it. Luckily, there’s a super easy way to turn good old all-purpose flour into cake flour, lightening your cake crumb, making it super soft and delicious. Maybe you already know this trick. It’s a good one. Here’s a step by step. From me to you!
How to Turn All-Purpose Flour into Cake Flour
Step One: Measure out the all-purpose flour that you’ll need for your recipe.
Step Two: For every cup of flour you use, take out two tablespoons of flour and return it to the flour bin. Throw the cup of flour (minus the two tablespoons) into a sifter set over a bowl.
Step Three: Replace the two tablespoons of flour that your removed with two tablespoons of cornstarch.
Step Four: Sift the flour and cornstarch together. Sift it again, and again and again. The cornstarch and flour need to be well incorporated and the flour aerated. Sift the flour and cornstarch mixture about five times. Look at that! You just made cake flour!
